As the apple weeps

This art was inspired by the sudden demise of Steve Jobs..He is one of those great personalities whom I always admire.. I am always inspired when I listen to his Stanford University Graduation commencement speech..Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF8uR6Z6KLc

Pencil Jammers

During the last two weekends, I have been doing outdoor sketching along with other art enthusiasts as a part of Pencil Jammers, an online art community.. We met at shilparamam, HITEC city, hyderabad.. Capturing reality as strokes and splashes of colors was a nice experience..

Watercolor and acrylic

Paintings I did two weeks back..The above one was done using acrylic glazed using watercolor..The bottom one is watercolor on handmade paper..I love the texture.. I'm so bad at painting..I gotta go a long way in perfecting my strokes..

Open source sculpting

Trying my hand at sculpting using Blender..The sculpting system is not very stable..It is still under development but it sure is pretty good and I believe it will match up to other commercial packages in the market, in the near future..

I am excited. My article on Blender has been published in issue #33 of Blenderart magazine.. Thanks to Satish Goda, who encouraged me to write this article and also helped me take the first baby steps in learning Blender.. This article got published just when I lost touch with this software.. Now I have got some motivation to get back to it and do more renders :) My render has also got featured in the gallery .. The Awakening

I happened to watch Batman Begins last week..I was inspired by this scene where Bruce Wayne walks into a cave inhabited by bats..He stands up amidst a large colony of bats undaunted by what he once feared.. Very much how we need to stand up against our fears and overcome them ..

Furball

I'm home after 3 months and I have the luxury of 4GB of RAM on my Desktop PC .. Time for some renders.. Here is a fur test..This is my pet, furball rendered using Blender's fur system...

The audioMaster

After a lot of struggle, here is my first complete CG render.. Modelled, textured and composited in Blender.. This took me around one week to complete.. About half an hour to render.. I wanted to keep it a complete open source work..But i was tempted to use Photoshop to do a little bit of color correction.. Below is a wireframe of the same..The camera angle has changed a bit..

Headphones

I broke my headphones last week.. I imagined modeling one in Blender and at the push of a button having it in my hand :)

Numaish 2011

I had been to Numaish, an annual industrial exhibition held here in Hyderabad..It was fun hanging out with my friends Aditya and Siva.. The best part was after the sunset.. Seeing all the fun rides decorated with beautiful lights was a feast to the eyes..Click here to view few clicks from the event >> Numaish 2011

Weekend CG exploration

A walk to remember

I started working on this painting last week..Couldn't complete it as work in the studio was hectic.. I also started another painting.. Feeling bored working on this again.. So i thought i'll blog it.. I'll come back to this again sometime later..I see lot of work can be done on this...As Da Vinci rightly said, "Art is never finished, only abandoned" :)

Fb profile pic

This is my new profile pic on FB...Do you see anything more than just the face and my middle name ? Look beyond what you can see :)

The poor lad

This painting was inspired by an experience I had last week when i went out for dinner at a roadside eatery..I have been seeing little children begging in the vicinity..But that day I was very much moved to see this little guy, famished, shabbily dressed and face distraught in frustration.. He was begging through the crowd..No one paid heed to him as they were busy enjoying the third meal of the day.. No sooner I saw him with a plate and some food which he apparently picked up from the left overs.. He even stole food from a plate someone left unaware..It was a pathetic sight..For him it was just another day but it touched me so much..And so I decided to paint him..
